Get gift cards, help yearbook

EDITOR’S NOTE: This is the body of an email I sent out to all of my colleagues today. It’s for a fundraiser my yearbook students. If you read this and are interested in participating, please get in touch with me.

Hello everyone. I hope today is going well for you. I am writing you all today to ask you a question: do you like to shop?

I’m guessing the answer is yes because everyone likes to shop, and since the Christmas season is upon us, shopping for gifts is a big deal right now.

So what if I told you I could help you get your shopping done while you helped the yearbook?

It’s easy!

The yearbook is selling Scrip Gift Cards. The company we buy the from gives us a break on the price, but you get a fully loaded gift card.

For example, if you buy a $25 iTunes gift card, you get a $25 iTunes gift card.

This is a great opportunity to go shopping and help the yearbook along the way. Basically, it is money you are going to spend anyway, so why not spend it through us here at the yearbook?

And don’t overestimate how great of a gift the cards themselves make. If you’ve got that one person on your list that is an absolute nightmare to buy for, give him a gift card so he can get what he wants . . . after all, we do have Cabela’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Gander Mountain, Home Depot, Lowe’s and Menard’s gift cards.

I plan to start ordering every Monday — even after Christmas since this is an on-going fundraiser for the Cub — and it takes a week to get the shipment of cards in.

We need to have received payment before we can submit your order.

Order forms can be found in the high school office, the journalism room, or attached to this email (just print it off and fill it out). You can leave your order and payment in my mailbox or give it to me in my classroom.

Checks can be made out to Sterling High School.

If you want or need a gift card from a specific store that you don’t see on the order form, let me know. There are numerous other options. We just tried to pick the stores we thought would be most popular.

Thanks in advance for all of your support! We at the Cub truly appreciate it!

Have a wonderful day!
